Resumes - How to Send

This might appear simple, but how do you plan to send your resume? If you are from the old school, you might mail it. If you are from the new school, you might email it. If you are caught between, you might fax. What is the right method? Check the advertisement for preferred methods.

The more the better! If a potential employer requests a resume via email, send by fax and regular mail as well. Why? Why not?!:) You will certainly stand out in the crowd by sending your resume in an unexpected method. Do not go overboard:) Send one fax, one email and one hard-copy of your resume via regular mail.

Sending your resume via regular mail? We have a great method to make your resume standout from the crowd! Cut the advertisement from the paper or print from the internet and paste at the bottom of your cover letter. This is great idea which has worked wonders over the years.

Follow-up with a call. A phone call can go a long way in this case. If you do not speak with the recruiter and have the opportunity to leave a voice mail, keep it short and sweet ... 'My name is John Doe and I am phoning as a follow-up to my resume. I sent my resume via email on Jan 1st and look forward to speaking with you soon. I can be reached at 555-444-3333 and would like to extend a special thanks for your consideration.'
